2015

This car, once again, has it's share of firsts for us.

This was the year we taught the boys how to fish. We were at Manning park with the annual Frisk family camping trip and the boys had their hand at getting us some dinner. Charlie wore my hat that trip and he could barely see what he was doing. But looked good doing it!

You'll notice the Spiderman on the top of the car. Oliver and Charlie went as superheroes for Halloween that year. Oliver as Spiderman and Charlie as Ironman.

We took the boys to their first movie theatre movie which is represented by a small box of popcorn.

There is also a small whistle near the tree on the shelf. That was my chance to help coach Charlie's soccer team. It was trying on the old nerves but I made it through!

At the end of the car you'll see a small backpack and that was because Oliver started preschool that year.

Oliver loved taking every pillow, blanket, sheet, quilt and stuffed animal from around the house and make his "nest". Those nest were everywhere! That is why I carved a small bird's nest which is just above the box of popcorn.

The box of popcorn, the whistle and bird's nest are very small and probably hard to see. They are tucked away on the shelves of the new mantle I had to make when we rearranged the whole bottom floor of our house. The previous floor plan had 2/3's of our lower floor being unused! Plus I needed to create a mantle that could hold this train! The mantle went from 5 feet to about 12. The train has now outgrown our mantle so i gotta start thinking what to do for next Christmas.

For those of you in the Lower Mainland, you will undoubtedly remember the massive wind storm that knocked out power for days. That is why there is a big cloud blowing over the Christmas tree.

And last on the front right of the train car is another "Hospital" sign. I rushed Oliver to emergency with a bad case of Croup and Mona had stepped on a needle and over half an inch of it broke off a half inch into her big toe! OUCH!!

Like I said, It was a big year of firsts but that good because it makes for an interesting year!
